Foamy Fishy Fun

Today we learned why sharks float, using a balloon filled with vegetable oil to simulate their oil filled livers.  Ever tried to fill a balloon with oil?  Not as easy as it sounds!

Sorry to say, but there are no pictures of the oil livers.  However, please enjoy these pictures of our fun project of the day!  The kids had to sift through homemade sea foam to find various ocean creatures (which will be put to use during tomorrow's project!)
Sometimes RQ doesn't appreciate being messy...
While she was saying "Ewwwww" over and over, Shepard was claiming all of the creatures for himself.
More "Ewwwws":
While Shep's sea creature collection kept growing...
Riley only managed to collect flung foam:
Once we dried everything (and everybody) off, we had fun matching up the deep sea creatures that Shepard found in the sea foam to their corresponding information cards from Monday's activity!
