Dirty Hippies

Spent the weekend making all natural beeswax candles with essential oils to cleanse and purify the air.  Yep, we're one Hillary vote away from becoming full fledged tree hugging hippies.

Dude Weekend

My boys just got back from their big fishing trip.  Let's just say it was a success!

Yes, Shep caught all of these!

I think they had fun!

It's never good when you're the first one to fall asleep at the slumber party...

Beach Bums

We just got back from a nice long vacation in Tybee!

The view from our deck.  Not so shabby.

Also not shabby - direct beach access from our downstairs porch!  Made going to the beach with three small children halfway manageable...

These two kill me sometimes!  

Nothing better than playing in the surf!

Gavin's first ocean experience, putting his chilled out surfer dude personality to good use in its proper environment.  

The weather cooperated beautifully so we spent three full days getting wet and sandy!

It's a good life!

We also ventured off the beach to go fishing off the pier (unfortunately the boys were skunked)

And we fed some gators at the Crab Shack!

We spent the last day of our vacation in Savannah, but we hit up the Oatland Island Nature Center on the way.  It was hot, muggy, and buggy but the kids had a blast there!

There were wolves and alligators and a cougar, but they liked the free roaming snakes and lizards the best.  Eeep!

There were also awesome trees to climb!

Gavin sat out our family beach trip selfie this year since we took it in a tree.  I feel bad about that so before I post the tree selfie, here's a selfie that Gavin participated in:
