First time in skates-how exciting!
Towards the end of the session Shepard was getting brave enough to go at it alone! Of course I was right there with the camera (practicing to be a good hockey mom!). Link to the action below...
James came with us... Two preschool aged first timers skating with adults who haven't been on ice in 10+ years - what could possibly go wrong?
Amber took the lead with the kids at first since she has more experience... Note how happy Shepard is to finally be on the ice!
It took the men a bit to remember how it's done. The wall was definitely their friend at first. I can't say much though, since I happily used the baby as a convenient excuse to stay off the ice!

We went to the pro shop afterwards to buy Sheppo some skates. They didn't have his size, but the guy that worked there had an unused pair in Shepard's size in his car that he bought for his girlfriend's son right before she became an ex girlfriend. Her loss became our gain since he gave them to us for free! So now Shepard is the proud owner of a pair of little hockey skates. Next step - lessons with a skilled professional! :)
