Happy Halloween Week!

We've been celebrating Shepard's favorite holiday all week!

We started with a Halloween festival at a local park last weekend... Shepard won this lollipop at a nerf gun range - like father like son!

We continued our Halloween fun by carving pumpkins last night.

Carefully scooping out the pumpkin, one seed at a time:

And placing them ever so carefully on the table:

Pumpkin seed nose:

And the grand finale, the event we've all been waiting for - trick or treating!

Supervising the lighting of the jack-o-lanterns:

These are some expertly scooped out pumpkins!

We went trick or treating with Tyler and Meredith again! However, getting three toddlers to look the same way for picture time is an impossible feat:

Trick or treat!

This guy was a huge hit... If you walked by he'd rattle his cage and beg you to let him out:

The kids seemed genuinely concerned for the imprisoned skeleton's well being:

As the night wore on, the sugar started to take it's toll:

Happy Halloween!

Happy Birthday, Parker!

Next up in the birthday rotation is Parker! He celebrated the big 3 with a costume party today, which means that Shepard got to make his big Halloween debut as a Chick-fil-A cow a little early!

With the birthday boy!

The whole gang: Shepard (Cow), Parker (Spiderman), Alfie (Spiderman), Holly (Merida), and Hartley Mae (Batgirl)

Bouncy house fun:

Candy Corn Bowling with Hartley Mae:

Whee! Cows like slides too!

A Cow-Witch - Be afraid... Be very afraid!

The cupcakes were pretty ho- hum...

Until Parker took them to the next level:

"Hmmmm..."

"Should I?"

"YES!"

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!

The "Dino Museum" in Cartersville had a vehicle exhibit last weekend where they brought in all kinds of cool stuff that you could play around in. It was a hit!

An old fire engine:

Complete with a bell!

Antique John Deere:

Another antique tractor:

And the coolest thing ever--- an Apache!

Apple Picking in Ellijay

Our neighbors told Shepard about an apple farm in the mountains where you can pick your own apples, and he practically begged us to go every weekend afterwards. Well, begging must work pretty well on us, because here are pictures from our trip to apple country!

We had to venture off the beaten path to find the good apples, but we eventually had success!

This is a bit of a picture fail, but you can really tell how excited he was to be able to pick his own apple off the tree!

The farm also had a tractor...

And a petting zoo with a real life calf!

There were also pig races, but let's not go there...

Labor Day Beach Trip

Let's just pretend this post isn't a month late, cool?

Heading to Seaside... Shark shirt? Check! Rad orange shades? Check! Just enough space in the backseat to fit the boy in with all of his stuff? Check!

Look at this face! Our boy LOVES the beach!

It's even better at daytime!

Kayaking is much safer on terra firma...

This was the KID'S MENU crab plate. (And he ate every bite!)
